Shared Jeep Tour
Are you a solo traveller or small group? Looking to save money? Want to enjoy the tour with other travellers?
Our daily Shared Jeep Tour allows you to do just that: the same high-quality tour, just a bit cheaper. Leaving the village every day at 10:30, we head to some of the famous sites of Wadi Rum, with an hour's break for lunch. In the afternoon we will reach the camp, where you are free to explore Wadi Rum desert surrounding the camp before a traditional Bedouin dinner. Sleep comfortably in our tents or enjoy the silence of the desert with a night out under the stars.
The Shared Tour costs 35 JD and includes the jeep tour, one night's accommodation at the camp, transportation to and from the visitor centre, dinner, breakfast, and all the tea you can drink. Spaces are limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. If you are planning a last-minute trip, please call 24hrs before you arrive to check availability.
The Tour Includes:
1. Lawrence Spring - Walk up through rocks and boulders to find the water(and a lovely fig tree to rest under). During springtime you are greeted by the heady smell of herbs. The view across the Wadi from here is legendary!
2. Khazali Canyon - This canyon was once used by the local Bedouins to rest in the shade, especially in the hot summer. You can easily imagine how it would have looked with Bedouin tents, families resting, drinking tea, and children playing. On the canyon walls you will see many ancient rock inscriptions. (See if you can spot the inscriptions of feet, and the lady giving birth).
3. Red Sand Dunes - This area is very beautiful with many differen shades of colour in the rocks and sand. You can climb up the sand dune for the wonderful view at the top. It is also advised to then jump off it & run down! (some even enjoy to roll down it!).
4. Anfishieh Inscriptions - Rock inscriptions on the Anfishieh Jebel from the Thamudic and Nabatean periods.
5. Lunch - We do not have a fixed time or place for lunch so we will just play it by ear and listen to our tummies! However, we will always find a good spot to relax and eat lunch, often with a view of the Burdah Arch. During the longer days of summer, we visit Burrah canyon for lunch where you are free to explore on foot for up to 1.5hrs.
6. Burdah Arch - this natural rock bridge is set high up on the mountain. On your tour you will view it from below, but we hope you will also come and stay again in Wadi Rum and climb it with us!
7. House of Lawrence - a Nabatean structure that Lawrence of Arabia, according to heresay, used during the Great Arab Revolution to store weapons. But even without the factual aspect of this site, there is a wonderful view from here.
8. Um Frouth Arch - This is a natural rock bridge, created over many years by water and wind. You can climb to the top… as long as you're not afraid of heights!
9. Small Sand Dune & “The Chicken” - this site lies in a remote corner with a wonderful view across both the red desert and the white desert. This is a good place to relax at the end of your day and just take in the splendour of Wadi Rum. The Chicken Rock is an interesting rock with two legs!
